The Web has been arguing for a long time about the real cost of the new Android-smartphone Moto X, which Google officially unveiled earlier this month. Thanks to the marketing company IHS, we once again had the opportunity to find out the net worth of the new device.

According to IHS, the cost of the Moto X is about $ 221, which is $ 16 less than the production cost of the Korean flagship company Samsung, which we talked about back in May of this year. IHS estimates that the cost of the new Motorola X8 System (SoC + NLP Processor + Contextual Processor) is about $ 32-33, which makes it somewhat more expensive than the eight-core Samsung Exynos Octa chipset, which costs $ 28.

Unfortunately (and perhaps fortunately), Motorola decided to save a bit and installed a 720p display in its Moto X, whose cost is $ 62.50. In turn, Samsung paid for the Full HD display, which is used in the S4, $ 75. The very same assembly of the Moto X, according to IHS, costs Motorola about $ 12 apiece. The remaining amount goes to various sensors, wireless modules and battery.

Recall that the official price of Moto X in the West without a contract is 579 dollars. With the signing of a two-year contract, the device can be obtained for $ 199.
