HTC introduced two budget smartphones

Last weekend, we wrote that the HTC Zara smartphone would be announced as HTC Desire 601. These rumors were eventually confirmed, as the Taiwanese company officially unveiled this new product, and we now have the opportunity to get acquainted with its official specifications.

HTC Desire 601 is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor with 1.4 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and a 4.5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The novelty offers 8 GB of permanent memory and has a slot for microSD memory cards with support for cards up to 64 GB. Rumors about the camera were not confirmed. As a result, it uses the main 5-megapixel UltraPixel sensor, the company which is the front VGA camera. In addition, on the front panel are two speakers Boom Sound, working together with a built-in amplifier.

In addition, there is support for Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Cat 3 LTE and DLNA.

HTC Desire 601 is running the Android 4.2.2 operating system with HTC Sense 5.0, the proprietary add-on that offers basic newfangled features like BlinkFeed and Zoe.

The device will go on sale in early October and only on some markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The price of the new product is, unfortunately, not reported.

Along with the Desire 601 announcement, HTC introduced another budget new product - HTC Desire 300, also running the Android operating system and the HTC Sense shell. As it turned out, it was Desire Mini, which previously appeared in rumors.

This unit offers a 4.3-inch WVGA display and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor with a frequency of 1 GHz. The device is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of permanent memory. The latter can be increased by supporting microSD memory cards up to 64 GB.

The budget smartphone is equipped with 5 megapixel with f / 2.8 optics and front VGA cameras. Among other technical characteristics of the new items are Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b / g / n WiFi and a 1650 mAh battery.

HTC Desire 300 will also be available in October. The price of the device is still unknown.
