VAIO released its first smartphone

VAIO Phone

In March last year, Sony sold its unit to produce Vaio computers from Japan Industrial Partners. The new owner decided to associate a well-known brand with not only laptops. As a result, Vaio released its first smartphone.

Vaio Phone, code-named VA-10J, belongs to the category of middle-level smartphones and does not stand out particularly among the mass of similar devices. Perhaps, it is only thanks to its logo that many people still associate it with Sony products.

The case of a thickness of only 7.95 millimeters adds to the appeal of the smartphone, but its position in the market is largely determined by a 4-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution. Two gigabytes of RAM will provide the smartphone with normal operation without outstanding speed.

It is also noted that Vaio Phone is running the operating system Android 5.0 Lollipop, and at its disposal is 16 GB of internal memory with the ability to expand to 64 GB using microSD cards. The battery capacity 2500 mAh is fully consistent with the requirements of this device.

Vaio Phone has support for 4G and a rear camera for 13 megapixels. A 5-megapixel camera is installed on the front of the case. As noted by the resource Blog of Mobile, Vaio Phone is almost identical to the smartphone Panasonic Eluga U2.

In Japan, the novelty is offered at a price of 51,000 yen (about 420 US dollars). While there is no information on whether this smartphone will be sold outside the domestic market.
