Most smartphones sold under local Russian brands are very similar to each other: the MediaTek platform and support for two SIM-cards are present in the absolute majority of such models. The more surprising was the appearance of Highscreen Explosion, which can be compared with the Samsung Galaxy S III - yes, exactly. In this case, SGS III today will have to pay about 20-25 thousand rubles, and the novelty from Highscreen will cost only 13.
As a hardware platform, Highscreen Explosion uses, perhaps, one of the most powerful processors for smartphones today - a 1.4-GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 Quad (the same used in the Galaxy S III). It noticeably surpasses the nVidia Tegra 3 chip installed on HTC One X or LG Optimus 4X HD.
The amount of internal memory in Highscreen Explosion is 8 GB, plus there is a slot for microSD memory cards. As for the RAM, then it is 1 GB here - this is quite enough for the smartphone to work quickly and not “slow down”. For example, modern games work without problems - for example, Dead Trigger, NOVA 3 or GTA 3 (what to say about less demanding applications like the popular Angry Birds).
A few words about the display Highscreen Explosion. The smartphone uses a 4.7-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The diagonal is slightly smaller than SGS III (4.8 inches), but the density of the points is slightly higher - 312 ppi against 306. IPS technology provides wide viewing angles and natural color reproduction. The brightness of the image also deserves kind words. In total, it turned out one of the best displays for smartphones at the moment. Note that the multitouch recognizes up to ten simultaneous touches.
In Highscreen Explosion, there are two cameras, which is fully consistent with modern trends. Frontal, used for video telephony, has a resolution of 2 megapixels, and the main - 8-megapixel, with autofocus. It is capable of recording video in Full HD 1080p format. In general, the quality of photos and videos can be rated quite high, but there are devices with better cameras on the market. Highscreen Explosion has a hardware camera power key - this solution is rarely seen in modern smartphones.
Highscreen Explosion has a completely standard set of functions: wireless communication modules Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b / g / n) and Bluetooth 3.0, GPS receiver, proximity sensors and lighting, there is support for DLNA. There is only one SIM-card slot - the microSIM standard is used. What is missing? For example, GLONASS and HDMI port support - they obviously would not have interfered.
Highscreen Explosion is able to work for about one day at full load, or about two days with less active use of the device. This result is achieved thanks to the battery capacity of 2 500 mAh - compare with 2 100 mAh in the same Galaxy S III.
The smartphone runs on the operating system Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. By the end of March, promised to upgrade to version 4.1 Jelly Bean. Note that Highscreen Explosion does not use third-party shells - the operating system to the fourth version got rid of obvious flaws and is quite suitable for use in the “bare” form.
The design of Highscreen Explosion will surprise no one. Strict black color, classic body shape - nothing unusual. The back cover is made of soft-touch rubberized plastic. We didn’t have any complaints about the quality of the device assembly, the device is actually monolithic. It is worth noting the presence of four touch-sensitive control keys on the front panel: this solution is very convenient, but other manufacturers have increasingly begun to refuse it.
It turns out that at a price of about 13 thousand rubles, Highscreen Explosion is able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S III. The device has a good HD-screen, a decent camera, and besides, it is built on the same powerful processor. A good option.
