Sony Mobile unveiled the Xperia Z Ultra at Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai. The 6.4-inch smartphone has become a serious addition to the Xperia family. This is not only the first Sony device based on the Snapdragon 800 processor, but also the company's largest smartphone.
Design
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, inspired by the Xperia Z design, looks more than attractive. The metal case combined with tempered glass on the front and back panels underlines the minimalist stylish design. Being a phablet, Z Ultra supports working with a stylus, which, unfortunately, is not included in the standard package. The display of the smartphone is able to recognize handwritten text and perceives pressing with a pencil or pen. Since the screen does not respond to the pressure force, the user will have to manually select the brush size through the Sketch application.

Performance
Considering that a 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a frequency of 2.2 GHz is installed onboard the Xperia Z Ultra, there is no need to worry about performance. This is confirmed by the first 3DMark tests: 16 828 points (Ice Storm) and 11 906 points (Ice Storm Extreme).
According to Sony Mobile, the battery charge lasts for 5.5 hours of video playback or 11 hours of talk time.
Forecast
It seems that Samsung will have to do a lot of work so that its next Galaxy Note could stand out from the crowd. After all, Sony set the bar high. Otherwise, the South Korean company risks losing its leading position in the phablet segment, which has recently attracted more and more attention from manufacturers.
