The French company Archos , known for its cheap tablets, is planning an invasion of the Android smartphone market. According to the MiniMachines website, the company is already working on three devices with a screen diagonal of 3.5, 4.8 and 5.2 inches. As expected, they will go on sale in April-May this year.

The 3.5-inch Archos Carbon 35 smartphone has two SIM slots, a screen with a resolution of 480 × 320 pixels, a single-core processor on the ARM architecture, 512 MB of RAM and internal memory, a slot for MicroSD cards, a battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. As the operating system, we will see Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The device goes on sale with a price of about 90 euros.


Model Archos 48 Platinum , is expected to become the flagship line. Inside is an inexpensive but powerful quad-core MediaTek MTK6589 processor with a frequency of 1.7 GHz. Also, the characteristics will please us 4.8-inch display type IPS with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and the operating system Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. A smartphone costs 250 euros.

The largest model, the Archos 52 Titanium, will offer a 5.2-inch screen, but a weaker processor than the Archos 48. It will be a 1.2 GHz dual-core chip. Other features include a screen resolution of 800 × 480 pixels, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, a 5 megapixel camera and a battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh. Currently, there is no information about the price of this Archos model.
