The flagship smartphone Galaxy S IV from Samsung announced last week caused a wave of resonant opinions not only among our readers, but also among our authors. Some said it was a “plastic lag remnant,” others said it was the traditional continuation of the line and the improvement of an already excellent smartphone. A little later, the first tests of the device appeared. Today it is possible to introduce you to the results of testing the device benchmark Geekbench 2 - a set that allows you to accurately measure the performance of the processor and memory.
As an experimental model was selected version of the Galaxy S IV, working on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with a frequency of 1.9 GHz, which, we recall, will be sold along with another version - based on the eight-core Exynos 5 Octa 1.6 GHz frequency . The comparative table also got new devices, such as the HTC One and the BlackBerry Z10.
Test results can be seen below.

The portal Primatelabs.com, kindly provided these tests, advises when viewing accept the following facts and observations:
It goes without saying that the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be the fastest smartphone on the market when it goes on sale in April. But it's not entirely clear how the Galaxy S IV will cope with the increased power and cooling, that is, a question that usually arises when using faster processors;
Samsung Galaxy S IV is twice as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S III. Given that the age of the Galaxy S III less than a year, the result is simply impressive. I just can not believe how fast the technologies used in smartphones are developing;
Galaxy S IV turned out to be almost twice as fast as the iPhone 5. Apple has significantly increased the performance of its smartphone lately (it says about the performance growth of the iPhone 5 by 2.5 times compared to the iPhone 4S). But will it increase the same productivity in its next iPhone?
The new flagship of Samsung was twice as fast as the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. But if for Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 this is forgivable (the devices after all came out last year), then for Z10 the picture is not the most rosy, because its release took place this year. Maybe BlackBerry, seeing the situation, will sooner or later release an updated model with a more productive processor;
The test used only one version of the Galaxy S IV, running on the basis of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset. How the version based on the eight-core Exynos 5 Octa will behave in the tests is still impossible to imagine. But seeing the performance result of the version based on the Snapdragon 600, compared with the same Galaxy S III, we can assume that the eight-core Galaxy S IV will show at least no lower result;
With the Galaxy S IV, the HTC One - both work on the basis of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, only in the case of the HTC One, lower frequencies are used (1.7 GHz versus 1.9 GHz). In addition, HTC One uses an older version of the Android operating system (4.1.2 vs. 4.2.2). In other words, the HTC One has the ability to improve performance at least by installing a new version of Android.
We look forward to the tests of the international version of the Galaxy S IV based on the eight-core Exynos 5 Octa.
