Therefore, it is not surprising that sooner or later there should have come a moment when a new flagship would have to replace the Galaxy S III. This day came. Due to the screen it seems that the size of the device has increased, but it is not. In addition, it uses a narrower frame of the screen, which allowed to keep the current width. Inside the renewed “galaxy” two different hearts can beat. For the international version, there is a version with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a frequency of 1.6 GHz, and for some regions (like North America) they will offer a device based on a Snapdragon processor (most likely 600-series) with a frequency of 1.9 GHz. In tandem, regardless of the type of processor, will work 2 GB of RAM. And the amount of permanent memory will be measured 16, 32 and 64 GB. No one is going to cancel the microSD slot.
New processors and a larger screen, of course, require more power, so the Galaxy S IV battery capacity was increased to 2600 mAh. Instead of the 8-megapixel camera, which is available in the Galaxy S III, the updated model has a 13-megapixel sensor, which also shoots video in Full HD resolution. Adaptive settings allow you to more smoothly adjust the screen brightness and sound level, depending on the activity of the user.
As for the Smart Scroll function, rumors about which have been around for a long time, here it is also implemented, but not quite as it was mentioned earlier in the same rumors. Samsung decided to base the Smart Stay feature (recognizes faces) and give it support for scrolling text by tilting the device. But Smart Pause, which also, by the way, came out from under the wing of Smart Stay, allows you to pause video playback if you turned away from the device. Resume playback occurs only when your eyes are again directed to the screen.
Modern standards dictate the use of a 13-megapixel camera. HTC One is an exception in this regard, but it has its own philosophy. Therefore, to help the Galaxy S IV show off new features, Samsung decided to adopt some elements from its Galaxy Camera. First, it is a ring interface. In addition, SGS IV can simultaneously take double shots and shoot double videos. There is a picture-in-picture mode. The Eraser function allows you to remove unwanted elements from the snapshots and the backdrop, Cinema Photo takes pictures with a moving background. A new feature, Sound & Shot, allows you to record a 9-second audio description for each photo. Drama Shot is designed for a series of quick snapshots, followed by combining them into a GIF. The focal length of the camera is f / 2.2.
If for good, then the new flagship should have been named Galaxy S III Plus, or something similar. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S III itself was (and remains) a very popular device, and, most likely, the Galaxy S IV will be able to gain the same popularity.
