Let's admit to each other that in the market, filled with all sorts of manufacturers of smartphones, only two companies basically get the cream - Samsung and Apple . Perhaps in one of the parallel universes, these two manufacturers could coexist peacefully together, but in our reality nothing will come out of it except fights, advertising, printed “trolling” and litigation. Will the new flagship of Samsung Galaxy S IV be able to shake the current position of the king of the market - iPhone 5? Or a device released six months ago will be able to withstand the blow of the South Korean giant? Let's make a comparison.
The size
Flagships based on the Android operating system continue to grow in size. Dictates the trend. The rules of the market and the buyers themselves dictate. Apple also had to sacrifice and increase the screen size, but at the moment the iPhone 5 is the only flagship with a screen size of 4 inches.
What do you think: “the more, the better” and prefer to adhere to the opinion “small, yes removed”? Whatever it was, the Galaxy S IV in all aspects turned out more than the iPhone 5. On the other hand, Android-smartphones have become very big. The iPhone wins in this regard due to the fact that it is just easier to hold it in your hand. But before you make the final choice, it is better to hold both devices in your hands.
Body materials
Despite all the internal components (you can read about them below), which are available for the Galaxy S IV, it is difficult at first glance to call it a premium device. Just because it is made from the same plastic that Galaxy S III is made of. In turn, the iPhone 5 is made in an anodized aluminum case.
Despite this, the Galaxy S III showed that many millions of customers have expressed love for the high-end device, even though it is made of plastic. But if the quality of the material is more important for you, or rather even its premium quality, then in this respect, against the background of “cheap plastic” S IV, the iPhone 5 or the same all-aluminum HTC One looks more advantageous.
Weight
If you need a very light phone, your choice is iPhone 5. Despite the fact that the Galaxy S IV turned out to be slightly lighter (3 grams, laughter and only) than the Galaxy S III, it is still heavier than the flagship Apple.
But here it is worth considering that due to the size of the S IV offers a larger screen.
Display
In addition to one additional (diagonal) inches, the Galaxy S IV screen also gives more than one million extra pixels. Can you notice the big differences between screens with a pixel density of 441 ppi and 326 ppi. Most likely no. Galaxy S IV wins unconditionally in this category. Just because 2 GB of memory is always better than 1 GB of memory.

Despite the fact that the maximum amount of memory offered in the Galaxy S IV is 64 GB, if desired, it can be further increased by the same amount, due to the support of microSD memory cards.
Networking opportunities
In all regions where there is support for LTE 4G networks, both phones can work in them. In addition, Samsung is going to sell two different models of the Galaxy S IV, one of which supports HSPA + (fast, but not as fast as LTE). iPhone, in turn, also offers support for HSPA +, if there is no LTE support in the region where the device is sold.
Battery
Another category in which the Samsung Galaxy S IV looks on paper is more presentable. But taking the battery capacity as an absolute indicator of the battery life of a device is stupid. Especially in the case of the S IV, with its large and voracious (like all large) display with a million extra pixels. Do not forget that the processor also loves to eat. Apple promises eight hours of iPhone 5 talk time or web browsing. It’s too early to draw final conclusions about the Galaxy S IV. You need to wait directly for feedback from the owners themselves.
Cameras

Samsung Galaxy S IV is running the latest version of the Android 4.2.2 Jellybean operating system, and therefore offers support for such services, like the Play Store, Gmail, and Google Maps. But the main merit of the company is that it is trying to differentiate its own software from its Android counterparts. And some of the features of this software really sound promising. S Translate allows you to communicate with people in a foreign language on the go (software is integrated into other applications, such as email, SMS, and so on). S Voice (such a response of Samsung to Apple's Siri) has been improved and now it can really be useful by offering a new S Voice Drive mode.
But the value of other new features is already starting to raise questions. Audio recording for photos, scrolling web pages and mail through the face recognition function, navigating among the photos without touching the screen, but keeping it at a distance of several millimeters ... You see, between the concept of “inventing” something and the concept of “stuffing more is the difference. So in this case, Samsung soon went on the second case.
In turn, for Apple, “simplicity” is already a religion. She is trying with all her might to show it in her iOS and iPhone. But here and its main drawback. While Android and Samsung in particular are trying to develop as quickly as possible, iOS in the global sense remains the same as we saw it back in 2007, when the first iPhone was announced.

Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages. On the Samsung side, the company is trying to overcome Apple in its own category, offering some very important features initially on the device, which in the case of Apple is “buy only”. But in addition to important functions, there are some completely useless ones, which in the end are simple garbage, of which there is already plenty in the Play Store. Looking at Apple, its approach may seem somewhat super-minimalist: stagnant, primitive, childish.
Perhaps one of these two philosophies is ultimately “more correct.” But we offer to solve this by yourself.
