According to Samsung, very soon the time will come to use WQHD-resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) in smartphones. As part of the event held by Samsung Analyst Day, the company shared some plans for its future development in the mobile device market. One of the issues discussed was the company's promise to use ultra high precision AMOLED panels with a pixel density of 560ppi.
Just imagine: having combined the resolution of 1440p and such a pixel density, you will get a 5.2-inch smartphone with the same dimensions as, for example, the LG G2 flagship smartphone with support for 1080p resolution, but with 78 percent more pixels. And if this is not enough for you, 4K resolution, also known as Ultra HD, offering 3840 x 2160 pixels can come to the rescue. Such plans from the Korean company Samsung are also available. Devices with a similar resolution should appear in 2015.
Another interesting issue of discussion at the presentation of Samsung was the announcement that the company in 2013 delivered to the market more than one hundred million units of smartphones of the Galaxy S and Note lines.
The next big step for the company will be the development of the wearable electronics market and related technologies. Samsung has already entered the market with its Galaxy Gear smart watch and does not plan to stop there, promising to release such a category of gadgets as wearable displays. The company wants to achieve its goal in 2015-2016.
In addition, the company announced plans to release a new 16-megapixel optical sensor for smartphones in 2014, and also once again expressed a desire to start building new 64-bit ARM processors in which it is going to use 64-bit cores of its own design.
