In an attempt to regain lost ground in emerging markets, Motorola is launching a new smartphone. The novelty with the simple and clear name Moto G turned out to be an order of magnitude cheaper than the flagship Moto X.
In addition to the competitive price, Moto G has a 4.5-inch 720p LCD TFT display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, an internal 8 or 16 GB drive, a 2070 mAh battery, and rear and front camera at 5 and 1.3 megapixels, respectively. The main camera is equipped with LED flash and autofocus system.

Externally, Moto G reminds Moto X. The main difference here is the location of the front camera and rear speaker. Moto Maker personalization service does not apply to Moto X, but the smartphone has a removable back cover, which allows you to change colors and styles as desired. In total, the company offers 19 customization options, including 7 cap colors. Unfortunately, the lid serves only a cosmetic role - Moto G has a non-removable battery and no microSD card slot.

Moto G is running the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, but Motorola promises to update it to Andorid 4.4 KitKat in the near future. The smartphone uses stock software and does not stand out with any special features, such as Moto X.
According to TheVerge journalists, who were lucky enough to get acquainted with Moto G personally, the smartphone impresses with its design and build quality - this creates the impression that you are holding Moto X. Motorola says it used a single design language and did not distance itself from the flagship. Without a doubt, Moto G is the best smartphone in its price range.

The Moto G display has good viewing angles, accurate color reproduction (16 million colors) and high pixel density (326 ppi). According to TheTherge, in many respects it even surpasses the AMOLED used in the Moto X smartphone. The device does not support the LTE standard, but given its target audience, this is not such a big problem. Moto G talk time is 24 hours.
Motorola Moto G is already sold in Brazil, where today Samsung smartphones dominate, and several European countries. In the near future, it will appear in Latin America, Canada and the rest of Europe. In the US, sales will start in January next year at a price of $ 179 and $ 199 for the 8 and 16 GB versions, respectively. By 2014, the smartphone will be available in more than 30 countries around the world.

Moto G can safely be called the first real attempt by Motorola, which has long been controlled by Google, to enter the global smartphone market to counter such phones as Nokia Asha and Firefox OS devices. Although the latter are cheaper than Moto G, they are inferior to it in terms of productivity and development of the ecosystem.
It is obvious that Motorola intends to win over to its side the primary buyers of smartphones. At the same time, despite the aggressive pricing, the company does not sell Moto G at a loss, writes TheTherge with knowledge of the matter. With a device like Moto G, any company will be able to crush the entry-level smartphone market. That's what Motorola is planning to do.
