In Chinese media, there is information that Sony is preparing to release an inexpensive 6-inch smartphone with an 8-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, presented this summer. It is reported that the device will be called Xperia Tianchi.

Other details about the eight-core Xperia Tianchi are not yet known. According to preliminary data, the screen of the smartphone will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and its premiere will take place on November 12 at the special event of Sony in Shanghai, writes Unwired View.

Sony already has experience using MediaTek solutions in their Android devices. Recently, an affordable 5-inch MediaTek Xperia C smartphone came out in China.

It is expected that, along with Xperia Tianchi, the company will reveal another new smartphone - Xperia Z1S. The latter is considered as a version of Xperia Z1 Mini for China. According to rumors, the device will get a 4.3-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 16 GB drive, a 2300 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

It should be noted that not all chip makers share the feasibility of producing eight-core chips. The American company Qualcomm, for example, called this venture meaningless.
