Huawei decided not to waste time and presented a number of new mobile devices with 4G LTE support at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In general, the Chinese manufacturer has announced 5 gadgets: MediaPad X1 and M1 compact tablets, Ascend G6 smartphone, TalkBand B1 fitness tracker and Huawei E5786 mobile router. Now consider each of the devices separately.

Tablets

Huawei came late to the tablet market, but with hope. 8-inch MediaPad M1 and 7-inch MediaPad X1 will attract buyers.

MediaPad X1

X1 - the most expensive of the two above-mentioned gadgets. It can be viewed more as a phablet, rather than a tablet computer. The Android device has a SIM card slot, which allows it to be used for making phone calls and sending text messages. In fact, the 4G LTE module makes it a full-fledged smartphone.

X1 has a display at 1280 x 920 pixels with a density of 323ppi, a quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz, 16 GB of internal memory and a slot for microSD cards. According to Huawei, the 5000 mAh battery capacity is enough to provide the device with more than three days of power during “normal use”; in standby mode, the tablet will last about 500 hours. No less impressive are its cameras, there are two of them: a 13-megapixel rear and a wide-angle 5-megapixel front.

Huawei MediaPad М1

The larger and less expensive M1 is equipped with the same processor, 4G module, but otherwise inferior to its fellow. In particular, it has a low-power battery (4800 mAh), low screen resolution (1280 x 800 pixels - modestly by modern standards) and less advanced cameras (5 megapixels in the back, 1 megapixel in the front).

The launch of the M1 in versions of 8 and 16 GB (memory can be increased through the microSD connector with a margin of 32 GB) is scheduled for May. X1 in turn will go on sale in the second half of this year. M1 will cost about 299 euros (411 dollars), and X1 - 399 euros (548 dollars).

Smartphone

Huawei, which last year put about 50 million smartphones on the market, today introduced the Ascend G6 based on the Android operating system.

Huawei Ascend G6

The 4.5-inch device is equipped with a 960 x 540 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz processor with four cores, a 2000 mAh battery, an 8 GB internal drive, an expansion MicroSD slot, and a front and back camera for 5 and 8 megapixels, respectively.

Externally, the Ascend G6 is very similar to the Ascend P6, but noticeably thinner than its predecessor (7.9 millimeters vs. 6.2 millimeters). The new smartphone comes with a polished metal back panel instead of rubberized plastic. Design changes are likely to be offset by a lower price of the device, which remains to be seen. According to Huawei, the Ascend G6 will go on sale in April.

Smart bracelet

Huawei TalkBand B1

Perhaps the TalkBand B1 has become the most curious gadget introduced by Huawei in Barcelona. Like similar devices from other manufacturers, it is worn on the wrist and monitors the health of its user, in particular, considers the steps, the number of calories burned and the distance traveled.

TalkBand B1

TalkBand B1 also has a sleep monitoring function - this means that the tracker monitors a person’s physical activity in a dream and is able to wake him up when immersed in light nap. But this is not the most amazing feature of TalkBand B1. The gadget is equipped with a removable 1.4-inch display that can serve as a headset for an NFC-compatible phone.

Huawei notes that with normal use, TalkBand B1 will work on one charge (90 mAh) for at least six days. Next week, the fitness tracker will go on sale in China. In Japan, Russia, Western Europe and the Middle East, it will appear during the first quarter. The cost of the TalkBand B1 is already known - 99 euros (about 136 dollars).

Mobile router

Huawei E5786

The list of new Huawei closes the "fastest in the world" mobile Wi-Fi (Mi-Fi) router Huawei E5786. The device supports data rates of up to 300 Mbps on the uplink and up to 100 Mbps on the downlink. Naturally, to work at such speeds you need a good channel.

E5786 with dual-band antenna (Wi-Fi 802.11ac) supports simultaneous wireless connection of up to 10 devices. The 3000 mAh battery provides about 10 hours of battery life. The presence of the function of reverse charging means the ability to energize the smartphone and other mobile devices. The launch of the Huawei E5786 is scheduled for sale in the second half of 2014.
