Blackphone is the name of the device claiming to be considered the safest Android-smartphone in the world. The device will be presented next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
The initiative to create a secure smartphone belongs to the same-name startup Blackphone from Switzerland, founded by Spanish hardware maker Geeksphone and Silent Circle, which provides various software solutions to protect user privacy, according to a press release published on PRNewswire.
Unfortunately, at the moment there are no specific details about the Blackphone smartphone. It is reported only that the device will receive a high-performance processor, an unlocked cellular module with support for any GSM network around the world and a revised version of the Android operating system called PrivatOS, which will allow Blackphone owners to make secure phone calls, exchange text messages, store files and go online using anonymous VPN services.
