Fieldbook

The company Archos, specializing in the production of consumer electronics, bought a controlling stake in the French manufacturer of military-grade devices Logic Instrument. This deal promises Archos a release of secure tablets and smartphones.

Together with the announcement of the deal, Archos, the third largest supplier of tablets in Europe after Apple and Samsung Electronics, introduced a new line of smartphones and tablets focused on the business segment, among which there are models with Logic Instrument technologies. Products brand Logic Instrument is resistant to harsh environmental conditions - protection from dust, water and shock.

As reported by The Inquirer online publication, Chief Executive Officer of Archos Loic Poirier, his company began working with Logic Instrument to bring more affordable secure mobile devices to the market for business users.

This is a great opportunity to expand the range of products and reach the business consumer under the C2B scheme. Why not give businesses the opportunity to use the latest technologies, such as Full HD and NFC? If you look at the professional industry, today most of the products work on 2-core and even more ancient processors, ”Poirier said.

The head noted that he is seeking not only to provide the business with new technologies, but also to offer customers lower prices so that they can replace old equipment with new ones. Emphasis will be placed on the Android and Windows operating systems.

Fieldbook E1

The new lineup includes a protected 10-inch Fieldbook E1 tablet computer. The Android device can withstand a fall from a height of up to 1.8 meters, and thanks to its IP65 certification it resists water and dust. Compliance with the military standard MIL-STD810G means that the tablet is capable of operating at temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius.

Fieldbook H1

Archos and Logic Instrument also introduced an IP54-certified Android smartphone (protection against dust and water) called the Fieldbook H1. The device has a rubberized body and a screen of tempered glass. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone is able to work for two days without recharging.

In addition, the new partner Archos announced a line of eight unprotected business devices, including tablets, smartphones and laptops. The company promised to tell about its future plans at the MWC mobile technology exhibition in February. There will also be presented the safest Android-smartphone in the world.
