The technology of charging a smartphone in 30 seconds is presented

StoreDot

Good news for those who wait will not wait, when the technology of ultra-fast charging of smartphones will go beyond the scope of laboratory research. Israeli startup StoreDot announced the development, which allows you to charge mobile devices in 30 seconds. As noted in the company, this is less than going to explain the principle of the technology itself. Great hopes are also placed on sugar batteries.

StoreDot, speaking at the symposium Microsoft Think Next in Tel Aviv, demonstrated a video called "Nano technology, inspired by nature" with a prototype of an ultra-fast charger, which was charged smartphone Samsung Galaxy S3. The secret of development lies in the so-called nanodots of organic origin. Nanodots increase the capacity of the electrode and increase the productivity of the electrolyte, which leads to rapid charging of the battery.

A fast-charging battery is the result of our attention to the commercialization of new materials, "says StoreDot CEO Doron Meersdorf.

Nanodots are monotonous crystals with a diameter of two nanometers, which consist of peptide molecules. The company said that the production of self-assembled nanotubes is relatively inexpensive due to their natural origin. They can be made from available bioorganic raw materials, and friendly to the environment.

We have created nanocrystals from the same peptides that participate in biological processes in our body. You can rely on them, - quotes the words of Meersdorf edition TechCrunch.

The current prototype StoreDot goes beyond the form factors for smartphones, but the company is actively working in this direction. Ultra-fast chargers can appear on sale within the next three years. One year is needed to get the right size, and two years - to get a battery with the energy density, which would be enough for a full-time use, say the developers.

StoreDot also plans to use nanodots in data storage devices, image sensors and semiconductor materials.

Recall that last year an 18-year-old student created an energy storage device that charges in 20 seconds.
