HTC introduced the 64-bit Android smartphone Desire 820

The Desire 816 smartphone, presented at the MWC in February, was unexpectedly successful for HTC. A huge 5.5-inch screen, sound BoomSound and bright colors attracted the attention of buyers with a limited budget, long dreamed of a smartphone for entertainment. The company decided to use the same winning formula in its new smartphone, which was named Desire 820. The new model retained the previous screen size, resolution and the number of pixels in the rear camera. But its main feature was the 64-bit processor.

Thanks to the 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, the HTC Desire 820 smartphone was among the first Android devices to support 64-bit architecture. This support is embedded in the operating system Android L, whose release is expected this fall. In the meantime, the smartphone is controlled by Android 4.4 KitKat, but will necessarily be updated to version L after its release. The first four cores operate at 1.5 GHz, the rest at 1.0 GHz. The configuration is supplemented by the graphic module Adreno 405.

HTC Desire 820 has a 5.5-inch display with 1280 × 720 pixels and two cameras: a 13-megapixel main (f / 2.2) and an 8-megapixel camera for a selfie. HTC claims that the main thing in the camera is not the number of pixels, but the quality. UltraPixel technology significantly improves the quality of images.

The Verge reports that the new smartphone also features Live Makeup, which allows you to edit realies in real time, for example, to soften the complexion. Unlike LG, which uses similar software in its cameras, HTC allows the owner of the Desire 820 to try on the faces of friends, celebrities and even completely unfamiliar people, whose appearance he found pleasant.

The plastic two-tone case makes HTC Desire 820 especially attractive for young people. The new smartphone will go to the world market in late September. In some markets, it will be available in a two-part version. The price for Germany, which debuted the Desire 820 during the IFA conference, is 329 euros.
