Huawei Introduces P8 and P8max Smartphones

Huawei has introduced two new flagship Android smartphones, one of which belongs to the category of "Fablets." Devices named, respectively, P8 and P8max, were announced at the event in London. The P8 is equipped with a 5.2-inch display with a pixel density of 424 ppi, and the P8max has a 6.8-inch screen at 326ppi. The resolution for both screens is Full HD.

New smartphones are running the Android 5.0 operating system Lollipop with the proprietary user interface Emotion 3.2, both have a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front. Rear cameras are equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), which allows you to take better pictures in low light without using a flash. According to Huawei, the optical stabilizer used here is "best in class" and twice as stable as the iPhone 6 Plus.

The unique for the P8 model is the digital signal processor of the level of DSLR-cameras. The software capabilities of the P8 camera make it possible to take pictures with deliberately blurry night lights of cars, which is usually obtained only with a mirror camera with a long exposure.

Model P8 is a follower of P6 and P7, released by Huawei in the last two years. The new smartphone has a thickness of 6.4 millimeters (for comparison: the thickness of the iPhone 6 is 6.9 millimeters) and weighs 144 grams - 15 grams heavier than Apple's flagship.

Due to the thinner frame, the P8 display turned out to be 0.5 inches larger than the display of the iPhone 6. Huawei says that the P8 has the best in its class screen-to-phone ratio. It is reported that, in contrast to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6, the smartphone Huawei P8 has a completely flat back panel.

P8 will be available in white, black, gray and gold color options, while P8max will be available in the following colors: gold, champagne and gray titanium.

Both versions of the P8 rely on the 8-core Huawei Kirin 930 processor with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and use 3 GB of RAM.

Model P8 received 16 GB of internal memory, P8max - up to 64 GB. Both devices have a microSD card slot with a capacity of up to 128 GB.

A full charge of the P8 battery is enough for a day of intensive use or one and a half days of use in normal mode. According to Huawei, the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 this figure is lower. A powerful P8max battery at 4360 mAh provides two full days of normal use.

The P8 also has a nanocoating that gives it waterproof properties without any additional covers. In addition, the company is going to sell together with the P8 cover with a built-in electronic ink display, from which you can read e-books without damage to the eyes and battery power of the smartphone.

The price for P8 starts at 499 euros (16 GB of memory) and finishes at around 599 euros for the version with 64 GB. Huawei P8max also comes in two versions: 32 GB (549 euros) and 64 GB (649 euros). At the time of launch, smartphones will be available in more than 30 countries, including China, Colombia, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the UK.
